The chamber choir of the Hochschule für Musik Detmold (University of Music) is a selected ensemble of 36 singers who perform demanding literature from Renaissance up to Modernism. The focus of the choir lies in a cappella literature from 19th to 21st century, but works of different ages that are accompanied by orchestra also belong to the repertoire of the choir.

Students of music education, church music, vocal studies majors, and vocally talented sound engineers and orchestra musicians gather for weekly rehearsals and additional reharsal phases conducted by Prof. Anne Kohler. The development of interpretations that are artistically sophisticated and stilistically precise, together with a brilliant and homogenous sound of the choir, are at the center of their work.

The chamber choir of the University of Music of Detmold has participated in several international choir competition during recent years (Marktoberdorf, Trnava, and Marktoberdorf) and was awarded with multiple prizes.

The quality of the choir is also proven by the cooperation with guest conductors like Eric Ericson, Paul van Nevel, and by the ongoing cooperation with Thomaskantor Christoph Biller.
