The young ensemble was founded in 2008 by its conductor Uwe Heller. The chamber choir consist exclusively of very experienced singers, who interpret works of many voices, and often unknown a cappela works at a high standard with a small cast.

The vocal ensemble, while only four years old, has gained a considerable repertoire during the last few years, which stretches from programmes with works by Tallis, Byrd, Palestrina, Gesualdo, and Schütz up to contemporary compositions, some of which the choir has also commissioned.

Concert programmes often follow a theme with a consistent dramaturgy and are stilistically diverse. The ensemble's sound is described as elegant, lean and natural.

Casting is aligned with the requirements of the respective works. The repertoire contains works for female and male voices, naturally, as well as compositions for double choir. Solo parts are always performed by singers of the ensemble.

The name “ClaritasVocalis” refers not least to the artistic credo of its conductor, to create “vocal lucidity”, and also transparence of speech as well as balancing the sometimes few voices.

ClaritasVocalis can look back on an early success at a chor competition. In September 2011, the ensemble won the first prize of the fourth Choir Festival of Hesse, reaching a score of 24.1 (highest score in the competition and golden diploma), the first prize of category E (chamber choirs), a special prize for the best interpretation of a compulsory piece and the honors award of the prime minister of Hesse for winning the Grand Prize of the competition.

The chamber choir ClaritasVocalis is a member of the German Choral Association (Deutscher Chorverband).
